Argan Oil's Benefits Are More Than Skin Deep
Beautyologie is proud to offer Some Moroccan Pure Argan Oil, which creates the purest skincare and haircare oils hand-sourced from women's co-operatives in Tiznit, Morocco. This transparent supply chain provides these Berber women with fair wages so they can be self-sustainable and provide for their families.
After doing a deep dive into the Argan industry, the founders of Some Moroccan learned that most middlemen take advantage of the female producers who produce this oil, taking the biggest cut when it comes to the price per liter.
By going straight to the source and working directly with this female cooperative, Some Moroccan receives a better price, which not only allows them to offer the best quality of fresh pressed oil at the best price, it also allows the women fair wages for the hard work they do.
They also never negotiate with the women on price. They believe they deserve every dime of what they ask for. Poverty is commonplace for these communities in Morocco and many of these producer’s children drop out of school to help their mothers, by either harvesting the fruit of Argan or cracking the nuts and helping press them.
To help mitigate this problem, Some Moroccan also gives back 5% of each bottle sold to help these kids stay in school.
With the recent earthquake disaster, these communities are in need now more than ever. If you haven't experienced the benefits of Argan Oil, now's the time.
For centuries, Moroccans have used Argan Oil. Here's a quick list of why we could all use it too.
-
Skin Moisturization: Argan oil is rich in essential fatty acids and vitamin E, making it an excellent moisturizer for the skin. It can help hydrate and soften dry, flaky skin, and can be used on the face, body, and even the lips to promote a healthy complexion.
-
Hair Care: Argan oil is often used as a hair treatment. It can help repair damaged hair, reduce frizz, and add shine. It's commonly used as a leave-in conditioner or applied to the scalp to promote hair health.
-
Anti-Aging Properties: The antioxidants in argan oil can help protect the skin from free radical damage, which can lead to premature aging. Regular use of argan oil may reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
-
Acne and Skin Conditions: Contrary to what one might expect, argan oil is non-comedogenic, which means it won't clog pores. It can be used by people with oily or acne-prone skin to help balance oil production and reduce inflammation.
-
Scar Healing: Argan oil may aid in the healing of scars and blemishes. Its vitamin E content can promote skin regeneration, potentially reducing the visibility of scars over time.
-
Nail and Cuticle Care: Massaging argan oil into your nails and cuticles can help strengthen and moisturize them, promoting healthier nails.
-
Protection from Sun Damage: While not a substitute for sunscreen, argan oil can provide some protection against the sun's harmful UV rays due to its antioxidant properties.
-
Eczema and Psoriasis: Some individuals with eczema and psoriasis have found relief from the symptoms by applying argan oil to affected areas. It can help soothe itchiness and reduce inflammation.
-
Sustainability: Supporting the use of argan oil from Morocco can contribute to the conservation of the argan tree, which is native to the region and plays a vital role in maintaining the local ecosystem.
